(I wrote this on my phone, and you have no idea how frustrated my autocorrect got.)
Some of those are definitely made up but some seem like their parents just plain didn’t know how to spell.
That’s definitely plausible, but I also know that in many cases parents consciously use “variant” spelling to make their child more “unique” — when in reality it just guarantees a life of correcting people’s spelling.
If the “Kortnee” parents really wanted unique they should have gone the extra mile and named their kid “Kortknee”.
There is an actual “Name of the Year” bracket. for weird names I assume all the names there are real.
