I’m not sure if this sculpture is finished, or even well-begun. I liked the sketch, which I posted before: And here’s how it turned out: It’s not really snapping my suspenders. Maybe it’ll grow on me; on the other hand, maybe I’ll scavenge the tentacles for something else.
New piece.
I forgot to get a good picture of this in natural light before I took is up to the gallery on Saturday, so you’ll have to be satisfied with this: 16″ x 22″, mixed media. I call it “Embolism,” because I’m strange that way.
Halloween movie marathon!
As longtime readers of the pre-crash blog know, we have a family tradition on the Friday before Halloween: I have a stack of pre-vetted movies — usually innocuous B-movies and creature features — and I’ll keep throwing them in the DVD player until the kids give up and go to bed. Here’s what we went…
Space Eldritch II!
This is the project that’s kept me so busy for the last couple of weeks that everything else fell by the wayside. Why, I was so busy that I couldn’t even post about it here yesterday, which was launch day! (Also, I was sick.) But with only that minimal delay, I announce the publication of…
Two book covers.
A couple of covers I put together for friends for their upcoming books. First, Dave Butler’s YA dystopian (which I’ve read, and it’s awesome): And second, David West’s multi-continental historical adventure 9which I haven’t read, but I’m sure it’s awesome). David already had the main illustration of the man and child from another source; I…
Everyone Tell Everyone About CheapCaffeine Day!
That’s right — in a self-serving and shameless attempt to get some more traffic for my webcomic, CheapCaffeine.net, I’ve declared today “Everyone Tell Everyone About CheapCaffeine Day!” Let your friends, family, and those random strangers who inexplicably follow you on Facebook and Twitter about the best webcomic (as far as they know) they’re not reading!…
Hell’s Playlist
Just what the title says: a list of the songs that, should I end up in Hell, I expect to be on constant rotation for my personal torment. (Warning: In true Lovecraftian fashion, just reading the titles of so many execrable songs in a row might be enough to cause brain lesions. Be thankful I…
Empire of the ‘B’s
It has a street date! The first segment of our long-awaited encyclopedic book project surveying the career and films of Charles Band has a street date! (Clicking the image below will take you to a PDF of the sell sheet.)
The Masque of the Red Death
The owner of the Italian restaurant across the street from the Pandemonium Art Gallery, which displays some of my artwork, is holding an Edgar Allan Poe-themed art auction on October 17th, and asked Jane at the gallery if any of her artists wanted to make something for the auction; he specifically asked after me, because…
