News flash: I’m old.
I did 24 Hour Comics Day once before, probably a dozen years ago. Not only did I finish, I finished early.
This time… not so much.
I could blame this on many factors (this event started at 6 pm so it had already been pretty much a full day before the 24 hours started, I was doing detailed pencil work instead of the cartoony doodles I did way back then), but the biggest factor is that I’m old, I’m tired, and I get sore easily.
I posted my penciled pages as I completed them on Facebook. By about 2:30 am I had finished six pages, my hand was about to fall off, and I was regretting having signed up for this in the first place. I went home and slept.
Earlier today I finished a seventh page, but my arm is still stiff (and the tip of my thumb is numb — apparently that’s where I put pressure on my pencil).
So here are the quickie shots of the seven pages completed in the official 24 hours. I’m going to spend the next several nights working on it, since I think it’d have some appeal as a one-shot at conventions, but that’s as much as I can manage right now.
